(I'm surprised this popped up, as Eurovision is coming up soon! Arcade wasn't one of my favorites, but I love its haunting atmosphere and am glad for Duncan's continued success!)

(Now this is an all-time Eurovision favorite for me. I'll be honest, I didn't get it at first, but Amina's performance manages to floor me every time. It has some neat West African influences and a neat ambient nature to it all. While Carola is a deserved winner of 1991, I think Amina winning would've done more good for the contest)

(I love La Roux's music so much--I think their debut album would go on my "albums I would take to a desert island" collection. That said, International Woman of Leisure is a total jam, and I love the overall attitude for this one.)

(I always thought of @fragiledewdrop when I listen to this, because she mentioned as one of her favorite songs! I like the magic of this one, along with the storytelling. For some reason, I thought "she" was referring to Gaia, because of her role as the mother of the world. Aurora referring to Eve and how her biting into the apple was a gesture of goodwill is one of the most interesting thoughts I've ever encountered)

(I don't always listen to grunge, but when I do, I end up finding some gems on Spotify. Alice in Chains were one of the biggest bands back in the day, and this is one of their masterpieces. And I can't help but agree--though it makes me want to deep dive a bit more into their discography!)

Like any good OC gremlin, I have playlists for all my favs. The one I’ll put before the cut, though, is Kinesis’ theme song, written by Andrew Huang. He legit wrote it for Evil Plan. It’s both about my OC and it has a slick guitar theme that is just….EVERYTHING. It is the best character theme I have and I adore it.

Finally got an over-three-hour playlist, bits of spring means ups and downs and sad wet cat feelings along with the manic joy of the days getting longer. I've mentioned this before but every time I hear All Saints' "Love Lasts Forever" part of me thinks it is the theme song to *Highlander*. Bless my brain where there's some pop girl version of *Highlander*. Can you imagine?!

The very awesome Cola Boyy died this month at 34, which is not enough years but I'm glad we were given what we did. His disco pop is a joy and his cover of 'To Be Rich Should Be a Crime' is the version that lives in my head. Here's a mini-doc over on Vimeo that came out with that single.

I stumbled across Tele Novella this month and they hit a lot of sound boxes for me. "Eggs in one Basket" has an appropriately weird video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTB-uwAd0v8)

I'd heard "Pump Up the Volume," of which Colorbox was part (primary part, for this song) before because I'm a person living in the world the years I have, but somehow hadn't encountered "The Moon Is Blue"?! One of those bands for whom things went right then fell apart. Wolfgang Tillmans did an exhibition collecting their work in a "playback room" exhibition.

I remain fond of younger folks reinterpreting the imagery and sound from my high school years and Lauran Hibberd hits that. See 2nd prettiest girl as an example.

Isabel Townsend Pell 

née le 28 septembre 1900 et morte le 5 juin 1951, est une mondaine et socialite américaine, personnalité lesbienne. Elle est connue pour avoir combattu avec la Résistance française durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

En France durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Pell prend le nom de "Fredericka" et rejoint le maquis. Elle déménage à la montagne et sert durant quatre années jusqu'en septembre 1944. Elle est connue comme "la fille avec la mèche blonde". Pell est capturée par des soldats italiens et internée à Puget-Théniers. Elle continue néanmoins à faire parvenir des informations à la Résistance durant ses promenades quotidiennes au camp. Relâchée, elle se déguise en paysanne et se rend dans une forêt de montagne avec son amante, la Marquise Claire Charles-Roux De Forbin (1908–1992). En 1944, Pell sauve un contingent de soldats américains entourés d'ennemis à Tanaron, une petite ville française. Pell, arborant le badge de la France libre, sortit de sa cachette pour les mener en lieu sûr.

Des photos montrent Pell pratiquant des sports seule ou avec des héritières célèbres, comme Margarett Sargent (1892–1978) et Eleonora Sears (1881–1968), que la rumeur présente comme ses amantes. Sargent dit qu'Isabelle est « belle, merveilleusement belle ». Pell rend visite à Sargent dans sa propriété à Prides Crossing, Beverly, Massachusetts et connait bien son mari Quincy Adams Shaw McKean (1891–1971) et ses enfants, qui l'appellent « cousine Pell ».

En 1933 Pell et la femme de Henry T. Fleitmann, un partenaire de la De Witt, Fleitmann & Company, sont sauvées après le crash aérien dans la mer d'un vol entre Copenhague et Falkenberg. Elles sont récupérées par un navire de fret allemand et emmenées indemnes à Copenhague. Pell devient l'amie d'Eva Le Gallienne.

Pell a une aventure avec Renée Prahar, une sculptrice et actrice américaine d'origine bohémienne. Elle est obligée de quitter New York après que sa liaison avec une soprano du Metropolitan Opera soit révélée. Pell déménage à Paris, rejoignant d'autres héritières excentriques qui cherchaient à se libérer de leur cage dorée. Esther Murphy, la jeune sœur de Gerald Murphy, raconte comment Pell, avec Natalie Clifford Barney, infiltre un couvent du XIIIe siècle pour rencontrer Alice Robinson.

En France, Pell débute une relation amoureuse avec Claire Charles-Roux, Marquise De Forbin. La Marquise naît à Avignon mais grandit au Maroc. Pell et la marquise déménagent à Auribeau-sur-Siagne. Durant l'occupation de la France en 1940, elles rejoignent toutes deux la résistance française et ensuite la 1st Airborne Task Force (Allied) dirigée par le  Major General Robert T. Frederick, qui dit : « je crois qu'elle est venue ici parce qu'elle voulait un uniforme. Et bien nous lui dîmes que nous n'avions pas d'uniforme de femme. »

Pell devient une attachée de la task force civile de l'armée américaine et assure la communication entre forces françaises et américaines.

Pell est une amie proche de Mercedes de Acosta. Après la guerre, De Acosta lui rend visite en France et entame une relation avec la compagne de Pell, Claire de Forbin.

De retour à New-York après la guerre, Pell vit au 30 East End Avenue. Elle meurt à l'âge de 51 ans durant un dîner avec son amie Anne Andrews au restaurant La Reine, situé au 139 East 52nd Street.
